I've setup a new VM running CentOS 7. My connection is currently Bridged (though I had the same problem with NAT). I'm able to connect to the internet through the host connection (just a Windows 7 laptop), however, I'm not able to browse to any HTTPS sites such as gmail. The sites work fine through the host but when trying to browse from the VM both Chrome and Firefox stop the connection and report something along the lines of "This connection is Untrusted". Normally there is the "I understand the risks" route but there is no option in either browser right now for this.

SELinux and the firewall are both disabled, there is no proxy set up.

Edit: Time has already been corrected as well.

Is the clock in your VM way off? This can cause certificate verification to fail.

  • Sorry I forgot to mention that - yes the time has already been corrected. Mar 16, 2015 at 14:44
  • What browser do you use on Host? Have you checked behavior on Chrome? What are certificate credentials?
