Are there any add-ons or extensions for this?

I've been using this for a while, it's really good. But that question shouldn't even exist - it was quite easy to find this just searching on chrome itself. –  Cawas Mar 4 '10 at 16:09
From the description of the extension, it only translates whole pages. I expected something like the other answer (auto-translate). –  stg Mar 11 '13 at 17:33

My favorite on is Auto-translate. You can select the word with some keys(CTRL, ALT, SHIFT) and the translation momently appears as a tooltip box. In addition you can add as many languages you want and configure combinations of keys.

Welcome to Super User! Generally we like answers on the site to be able to stand on their own - Links are great, but if that link ever breaks the answer should have enough information to still be helpful. Please consider editing your answer to include more detail. See the FAQ for more info. –  slm Apr 16 '13 at 0:01
