I wish to record a webinar and I don't know what software to use in order to achieve this. The thing is that i never "attended" to a webinar and i don[t know what is about. I wish to record the video and audio, directly from the source(i don't wish to record my room sound environment too)

any good software for that?

many thx :)

I use CamStudio for recording everything from video chats to presentations for a class I teach. Simple, plenty configurable, free, works great. Can't ask for more.

Most editing is accomplished with the filters provided by VirtualDub.

Conversions when necessary are accomplished via WinFF

You of course don't need all the other tools, but for finishing things up and batch processing they are hard to beat for the price. $0

ty for your fast and detailed replay. I've tested CamStudio and it doesn't know about multiple monitor setup and it doesn't know to record directly from audio source(it records the sound from the room too) – doug Jan 28 '10 at 14:49
Don't know about the multiple monitors so that may be a deal breaker, re the sound though I wonder if you try the "record from speakers" then muted the mic. In my testing I didn't worry about ambient noise but I know it picked up the sound coming through the output ok. Re the monitors the only thing I can find is a vague reference that a certain release added this feature. camstudio.org/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=304 – Dennis Jan 28 '10 at 15:20

Adobe captivate should probably handle everything you need, but it costs $$. Most webinars offer the video as a download to attendees though. Have you looked to see if that is an option?

some of the webinars are available for download. IDK if that one will be available latter for download. I can't afford to loose it – doug Jan 28 '10 at 15:07

A quick email to the organizers should clear that question up – MDMarra Jan 28 '10 at 15:11
