Use an iPhone as a bluetooth headset for a mac?

I am trying to connect my iPhone 3G to a MacBook Pro. Can this be done via Bluetooth or WiFi? I'm having trouble connecting the Remote app to my iTunes library.

Remote works with WiFi only, with the additional requirement that you must be on the same subnetwork. So e.g. it may not work, if your router makes WiFi and Ethernet separate subnets, and the computer with iTunes library happens to be on the Ethernet one.

About the only thing you can do with the MacBook Pro - iPhone Bluetooth link right now is share (tether) your iPhone data connection.

Assuming, of course, that your provider allows for tethering of your data connection. In the US, AT&T does not allow for it. – Brad May 17 '10 at 14:46
