My ISP SMTP server is so slow and is picky on what type of e-mails it allows. I need a new SMTP service and it needs to be free. I run a linux server but don't have the time to set up Postfix right now. Also, I don't want to use Gmail's SMTP server because it puts your gmail e-mail address as the sender. Thanks!

I use gmail's smtp, and I get my mail account in the from address, instead of the gmail account. I do have to authenticate to gmail to send. Gmail does appear as the "Return-path" field, however any client that uses the From address gets sent back correctly. So I think gmail will do what you want. |

This may be hard to find since a service like this would be abused by spammers |

You may want to consider a commercial SMTP relay service (they're not that expensive, and you don't have to worry about being blacklisted because @xyz.com is coming from @gmail.com's SMTP server etc etc). See here. |

This would be an invitation to spammers. But if you use one of the large free email address providers (like gmail) you'll get an SMTP which you can use with your login credentials. |

You can use Hotmail. As long as you authenticate, it keeps the address correct. For one of my domains, I have a catchall address which gets forwarded to a Hotmail account of mine, then using Outlook, I have it set to an email address from the domain, but use Hotmail's SMTP server - it works well and emails arrive with the correct from address. |
