I planning to deploy resin for a project that I am working on but cannot figure out the version of resin I must use. The downloads page lists two products, Resin and Resin Pro with dev, stable snapshots. What is the difference between the pro version and the plain version? Is pro a paid version or something?

and.. wiki to the rescue (partially)

assuming its resin server you are talking about "According to Caucho Technology marketing material, Resin Open Source is suitable for hobbyists, developers, and low traffic websites that do not need the performance and reliability enhancements of Resin Professional. Resin Professional would add features and enhancements commonly needed in a professional production environment."

from there this might explain the versions. All except open source edition are paid for apps
