Possible Duplicate:
What is your notes taking tool ?

I am looking for a note-taking / desktop-wiki app that would work on Mac and Windows with the following features:

  • Very simple UI and lightweight
  • Store notes as a local file/db which can, then be sync'ed with Dropbox
  • Easy to create new notes (without going through complex UI clicks)

Is there such an app?

@random, That question doesn't cover cross-platform/lightweight solutions, although I guess there were a couple in there. Disappointing that this question was closed. – ergosys Mar 12 '11 at 0:48
@ergosys - exactly, so I've nominated to reopen this question (4 votes left). – Sridhar Ratnakumar Mar 21 '11 at 21:44

Check out TiddlyWiki, you should be able to use that as a simpe note taking piece of software. It's cross platform and since it's a simple file you should be able to sync it with dropbox:

Nice, despite having TiddlySaver.jar, the "save" feature doesn't work on Chrome (the only browser I use) though. – Sridhar Ratnakumar Feb 6 '10 at 2:47
