What is your favourite service for bloggers?

I'm picking a personal blog engine to install on my Ubuntu Server VPS. (Note that I do not want to host the blog on third-party blogging sites like blogger.com.)

  • It should be as simple to use as possible.
  • It should support rich text copy-paste from MS Word. (Separate image uploads is OK).
  • It should provide all the must-have features like rss, comments, pinging, trackbacks etc.
  • It should be free.
  • There should be some good designed themes for it available (single good-designed theme would do, but a choice is a bonus).

If it is also easy to set up and does not requre PHP, it is a bonus, but not a must-have requirement.

I'll go for WordPress by default, but, perhaps there are better alternatives?
