I work with Windows 7 on this machine. But this Windows 7 is protected and I cannot run .exe files on this machine.

How can I make the executables run on this computer?

Note: My account doesn't have Administrator rights.

Can you take a look at this and tell me if it fix the issue? support.microsoft.com/kb/950505 – r0ca Feb 15 '10 at 14:59

If you're not an administrator, ask your administrator for permission to run them. There is most likely a good reason as to why you do not have the ability to run them.

If this is actually your machine and you have forgotten the administrator password or similar, please give more information.

Good answer. Probably also with Windows 7, he'd need UAC Credentials to run .exe files. – r0ca Feb 15 '10 at 15:09

Mmmmm..I'm not sure though but you can try to open it through Command line but may wanna open it as admin ; open your start menu ... type cmd in your search zone..when the cmd icon comes up right click on it and select run as administrator .. After that navigate to your .exe file path and just type FILENAME.exe .. Good luck

Meaby you can tell us some more? Which executable file? Is it your machine or not? Why have you not admin permissions?

Normally there are reasons that some executables can not be uses without admin permissions.

Why did I get a downvote? I only asked for some more information? – JordyOnrust Feb 15 '10 at 18:15
I did as well, no idea why. – William Hilsum Feb 15 '10 at 18:54
Just a note @Bright: I would ask for more information as a comment instead of an answer, though your questions are all valid! – Ivo Flipse Feb 15 '10 at 19:57

@Ivo - don't forget new users can't comment (you need 50 rep). I know it's difficult to remember being new from the loft heights you've reached ;) – ChrisF Feb 15 '10 at 20:00
Thanks for pointing out my ignorance @ChrisF! I should start leveling an alt ;-) – Ivo Flipse Feb 15 '10 at 20:34
