When I turn my HP Entertainment dv2000 pc, the screen remains blue/blank. I've tried to re-boot several times...tried to 'control/alt/delete', etc. How do I get desktop icons back?

HP has a web chat support system for that. It is fast and they do a reasonable job. – user14270 Feb 15 '10 at 20:38
This question could use some more detail. If you'd like an answer, you'll need to update your question with some more specifics on your computer, such as what you were doing before this problem happened, whether the taskbar appears when you boot it, if it is taking abnormally long to boot, etc. – Emory Bell Feb 15 '10 at 22:24
