I'm looking for the cheapest device that will run embedded linux (and some lightweightish apps) and comes standard with...

  • Battery
  • Audio I/O
  • BlueTooth or wireless
  • USB
  • Touch Screen.
  • MicroSD slot or something to get several gigs of persistent storage
  • enclosure

"cheapest device" will change over time. this is not an appropriate question for Super User; we are not a shopping or price-comparison site. – quack quixote Feb 24 '10 at 8:00

This question is unlikely to ever help any future visitors; it is only relevant to a small geographic area, a specific moment in time, or an extraordinarily narrow situation that is not generally applicable to the worldwide audience of the internet. See the FAQ for guidance on how to improve it.

Wide range of very small embedded linux devices, with various expansion kits for hardware you may require.

That linux jornal issue is three years old. Nokia no longer sells that phone. Current N9 series seem to be in the $500 and above price range. ie. Around a Google Android phone range. I was hoping for something cheaper. – John Carter Feb 24 '10 at 4:13
