Which freeware player would be best to play video? [duplicate]

• VOB (DVD)

and HD quality video also

etc . would it be better to install, quicktime player, real player, divx player or any sigle software can play flawlessly every format.

Note: I've used VLC but it crashes many times.

I need compatibility with Windows XP and 7 both

I like the full version of k-lite codec pack for this. It comes with Windows Media Player classic, which is light weight, and plays everything I've ever thrown at it.

I always liked that popular korean one - GOM Player. Much better than VLC I thought. But now I'm on mac, so stuck with VLC :(

If VLC doesn't work for you, try Miro. Plays just about anything you throw at it. I don't see why VLC would crash for you though--are you using the latest version? It has never crashed on me before.
