Possible Duplicate:
Norton Internet Security 2008 delete my application

I'm maintaining a backup software, the external HDD what we’re using will display two drive letters in windows explorer, one is a virtual CD drive(X:), autorun.inf and launch.exe are saved on this drive. Another driver(Y:) is a really HDD where we back up files to, in addition, our Backup Software is saved on Y:. When you plug the device into computer, the launch.exe will be shown in the Windows AutoPlay dialog, and launch.exe will find Y: drive, then launch the Backup AP on Y. Recently, Norton Internet Security 2008 automatically deletes AP.exe on Y: when device is attached. Is there a wayto prevent/avoid my application from Norton anti virus? is it must to Sign (digital signature) the application ? if I sign(digital signature) my application - it cure my problem?

Now a duplicate - superuser.com/questions/113300/… (and I was thinking of voting to migrate that one to Stack Overflow!) – ChrisF Feb 25 '10 at 12:30
@ChrisF: good catch, but it's a toss-up as to whether it belongs on StackOverflow or ServerFault. SO for fixing his application; SF for configuring Norton properly. but let's close this one as duplicate and migrate the other. – quack quixote Feb 25 '10 at 12:41
