Smart Draw 2008 seems to be the suggested alternative for windows according to Bee. According to their download page : Bee Docs Timeline is developed exclusively for Mac OS X. However, if you are looking for a timeline charting application for Windows, we recommend SmartDraw 2008 Standard Edition. |

I have been looking for timeline software as well, for a long time. Apart from Timeline Maker, which is expensive and cheesy looking, I could not find anything until recently. I was looking for something very simple, and this Python program from The Timeline Project suits me perfectly. It's open-source. I have also found this freeware called IN-HEH © Timeline, which is more complex, but I have not tried it out yet. |

Smart Draw 2008 looks excellent! I'll mention this since I've got it installed already: Visio 2010 also offers timeline support (and maybe 2008). Instructions here. |
