Im afraid, this won't work. A CD usually has a completely different file system than a harddisk. And that's probably only one of the reasons why this approach won't work.

Have a look at Daemon Tools or Virtual CloneDrive or various similar programs. These programs can "mount" such images and create a virtual CD drive which you can use like a real drive.
