I'm looking for a web-based event management application for managing events (or activities) on certain days that I setup. And then I want people to be able to sign up for them.

I'm looking for something that can then be embedded in my website, similar to a Google Calendar. Then for a given event's day, I can click on it, see who's attending.

Ideally, I wouldn't have to invite people to the event, they can just sign up for it.

I'm not looking to use something like Evite.

This application is going to be used to manage a schedule of bike races, and who from my club will sign up for them.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Edit: Some sites I've looked at supersaas.com, and Google calendar. (I don't like how with Google calendar that I'd have to invite people to the event.)

Questions about web applications should be asked on the new Web Applications site currently in beta. – ChrisF Jul 11 '10 at 16:34

Questions on Super User are expected to generally relate to computer software or computer hardware, within the scope defined in the faq.

Friend Connect from google can do this for you easily. The Event Gadget. This youtube video shows you it in action.

This is close: 1) requires user accounts 2) lots of work to set up each event. Looking more for something where you can 1) quickly add events/activities 2) people can enter their name fir signing up (registration not required, but could be used). Something a lot more casual. – taudep Mar 15 '10 at 8:14

Try Eventbrite.

This really seems like it's catered towards public facing events, like selling tickets to a concert or something. I'm looking for something more "back office" to manage a team. – taudep Mar 15 '10 at 8:15
