Right now I am using OpenDNS, but do not wish all of the hosts that I resolve to be tracked. Can anyone recommend a DNS provider that guarantees privacy?

Google (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) states that they delete any personally identifiable information within 24-48 hours. http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/privacy.html

Their stated reason for keeping that information at all is that it can help to troubleshoot network problems and identify malicious users, eg DDoS attacks.

Thanks - I knew about these addresses, but assumed Google would keep the information, since their business model is all about data acquisition. – RedFilter Mar 24 '10 at 18:52

I think they're under a lot of pressure to not appear ominous. – intuited Mar 24 '10 at 19:01
@OrbMan: Their DNS-service privacy policy specifically lays out what they keep and what they don't, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how much they err on the side of privacy with this. – Alexander Burke Mar 25 '10 at 5:09
