I've been using Coda recently. It's a great program, but overkill for just a multi session Mac terminal app. Know of a better alternative, especially with a command snippet library function?

Since I started using Visor I have completely forgotten about iTerm or anything else.

For what it's worth I never really liked Coda's terminal.

Update

While I liked Visor at the time, flipping in and out of it got to be a pain. Add in iTerm2's better features and I moved to that for my daily terminal usage.

Visor requires SIMBL, which is likely to introduce stability issues. I would recommend against any input-manager hacks (that's what the "IM" in "SIMBL" stands for.) – Alexander Burke Mar 25 '10 at 5:41

Definitely use visor. It's about the best terminal I've used on any OS. It doesn't look too nice at the beginning, follow http://tech.xster.net/tips/the-perfect-visor-reborn/ to make it nicer

If you happen to have Fink or MacPorts installed, then you can use rxvt under x11/xquartz. You could also probably manage to compile it from source, but both of those projects make it a lot easier. Not sure about the requirement for a command snippet library function though, and I don't know if it'll allow you to drop a directory on the terminal window to get it's path automatically or not (never actually tried that).

I recommend iTerm2, which has some amazing features not seen in any other terminal.

I personally really like iTerm

It works great for me with things like tabs (yes, I know Terminal has them too) and Growl notifications.

Visor is probably pretty nice, haven't used it but previously used similar applications on *nix, it's pretty handy. I'm not sure, but I think it will be hard to find a terminal that has a snippet functionality, since most people using terminals usually are proficient with the standard *nix-shell environment and write proper functions or command aliases when needed. It might be worth practicing the basics of *nix shells in general (learning it's syntax, how for- and while-loops work etc), it will pay off in the long run.
