I'm looking for a program or website that will allow me to monitor RSS feeds and send email alerts when new material is posted. Can anyone advise me. I found http://www.feedmailer.net/ -- which looks like what I need, but the alerts come only once a day. I need something that checks much more frequently -- say every 10 minutes.

An RSS reader is probably best (Gmail and Google Reader are one link away from each other), but if you really need to get it in your email try http://www.blogtrottr.com/ or http://www.feedmyinbox.com The latter seems to be more feature rich, but you need to get a subscription for anything more than 5 feeds.

The best way I can find now is using https://ifttt.com, use this pattern: if feed then email.

Google Reader will update as the feed is updated. Create a Google account and you are laughing.

If you have a Mac, try Net news wire and growl alerts to tell you when you have new updates
