Are there any calendars for Windows that come close to the iPad calendar UI sweetness? I'm tempted to get an iPad solely for the calendar app, but would love a Windows alternative if I can find one...

Here's the sort of thing I'm looking for:

By "UI sweetness" do you mean you want a calendar that is really intuitive to use, or one that's just "pretty"? – Sasha Chedygov May 15 '10 at 3:17
both. though it's too late now: i have the ipad, have drunk the koolaid, and it is awesome. – Epaga May 17 '10 at 8:04

VueMinder Calendar has a really slick user interface. It comes in both Lite (free) and Pro versions and integrates an interactive semi-transparent calendar into the Windows desktop.

It also has a main window that allows different view types (day, week, month, year, timeline, list) to be arranged for simultaneous display by simply dragging tabs around the window. It's a very nice design and I highly recommend it.

That looks really cool, I might try that myself. +1 – Sasha Chedygov May 15 '10 at 3:23
best option by far so far, so i'm taking it. doesn't quite reach the ipad sweetness (i have one now btw), but it's nice. – Epaga May 17 '10 at 8:05

iCalendar Lite- would work. They also have a standard version.

Desktop iCalendar Lite is a free desktop calendar for windows. It allows you to manage your events, to-do list on desktop. It allows subscribing public Google Calendar, such as holidays, election or NBA. It is full customizable. A build in skin editor makes it easy to set the skin by your own taste. Desktop iCalendar is full compatible with iCalendar standard, and can work with the calendars created by Thunderbird Lightning, Sunbird.

Sunbird? May not be as pretty, but it is solid.

Outlook probably does everything the iPad calendar can do and would be cheaper than buying an iPad.

However it depends which part of the iPad calendar app really interests you?
