are you talking about an alternative to Toad for MySQL or an alternative to MySQL? – quack quixote Apr 21 '10 at 15:31

Will MS SQL2008 Express work for you? It is free and supports 7 64Bit

SQL2008 Compare

SQL SERVER is great but for some cases I need for mysql. – asksuperuser Jun 6 '10 at 18:38

I installed Toad on 64bit Windows 7 by right clicking the installer and choosing run as administrator. The application seems to work OK for me.

I use HeidiSQL, and it serves me very well, with snippets, autocomplete, server list of objects and the like. Also there is a portable version, that runs from a pendrive without instalation, that has saved me more than once.
