I used rational rose for UML diagramming. It seemed to be very user-friendly and intuitive. But this visio this is seems so awful. It is not intuitive at all. And I am getting what I am expecting. How to learn more about visio 2007?

common on accept some answers. – Srinivas Reddy Thatiparthy Apr 27 '10 at 18:01
@Srinivas - to be fair, most of his questions don't have any answers. Of course most of his questions aren't very answerable either. – Eric Petroelje Apr 27 '10 at 18:01
Man, that's harsh... BUT he has a point. People are more likely to answer if they think there's a chance they'll get the 15 points for it. To accept an answer, click the check-mark next tot he answer you like. I'd recommend going back and selecting an answer to all your questions. You'll get better help in the future. – David Stratton Apr 27 '10 at 18:02
I just dove in and worked with it. It seemed intuitive to me... I'd bet Rational Rose would throw me because I understand Visio, and you've got the same issue in reverse. It's probably easier to learn something with no preconceptions. – David Stratton Apr 27 '10 at 18:03
@ChrisF he's asked 8 questions as far as i can see – adam Apr 27 '10 at 18:05

Visio's UML diagrams are first and foremost Visio diagrams, so knowledge of how Visio work is the key.

There are a fare number of books on Visio (MS Press has a number books at different levels of expertise).

If you want "UML as a Sketch" (i.e. don't want to be too constrained by following the details of the UML standard, but want to express ideas feely) then there are alternative (and recommended) templates here.

Visio is advanced diagramming tool and it seems tough at the beginning but once you learn about Visio and start using, it becomes very easy. I will recommend you to go through Microsoft Visio training and know more about Visio. Hope this will help you.
