My current favorite technology podcasts are TWiT (This Week in Tech) and Security Now!, but I'd like to have a little more to listen to.

I've taken a look (listen?) at Diggnation, but never really got into it. What technology podcasts should I check out?

This is a subjective question. Shouldn't this be a community wiki? – spoulson Jul 15 '09 at 17:41

Obvious answer: the Stack Overflow podcast.

I also listen to Citizen Garden (although it's been dead for a while) and Hanselminutes.

Of course, I keep hearing about it but never remembered to check it... – chills42 Jul 15 '09 at 12:59
I spent a bit of time listening to the back episodes (from about #5 or something), I've learnt a lot of relevant stuff since I'm about to enter Uni for CS from Joel's talks. – Ross Jul 15 '09 at 13:03

The good thing about the SO podcast is the lack of stupid music or presenter-esque rubbish. They don't think they are tv hosts and they sell it on the content, which is excellent. – Damien Jul 17 '09 at 21:35
first podcast that has actually had me consider donating to support it (at spokenword.org) – Joel Martinez Aug 26 '09 at 1:40

Leo Laporte's Podcasts are great:

  1. The Tech Guy
  2. This Week in Tech
  3. MacBreak Weekly
  4. Windows Weekly
  5. Security Now
  6. Net @ Night

I'd listen to these guys more if they weren't so boring and uninterested in their own material. – spoulson Jul 15 '09 at 13:12
Try listening to SERadio. The topics they cover are amazing, also their guest. But boy, do I get sleepy while hearing discuss in a really thick german accent. Someday I'll get back to them, I promise. – Manuel Ferreria Jul 15 '09 at 13:28
I've listened to it, too, and agree. Listener fatique > me. – spoulson Jul 15 '09 at 17:42

I really like .NET Rocks! which is software developer focused if that's what you're looking for, although they do mix it up with other topics, there's also dnrTV by the same team but is a video podcast.

+1 for RunAs Radio as well.

I've heard this one mentioned on TWIT, sounded interesting, but I'm not sure I could stand listening to Calacanis for that long... – chills42 Jul 16 '09 at 11:53
Yeah, the show is a bit long, but the "good" stuff is up-front. After that, I normally turn off the rest of the circus act. – Jefe Jul 16 '09 at 13:52
Yeah the homework section is awful, as is the fact it is very overproduced. I like the questions though. – Damien Jul 17 '09 at 21:33

Software engineering radio can be good. There are some gems in the backlog.

Check out all the shows at Revision3. My favorites (other than Diggnation) are Hak5, Scam School (non-tech) and The Digg Reel. Also from Rev3, I'm just getting into Film Riot.

If you like TWiT, you'll like Cranky Geeks.

I think I'll give Cranky Geeks a try. – chills42 Jul 15 '09 at 13:05

TWiG This Week in Google is new and seems to be pretty good so far. They breach a lot of "cloud" topics that is not exclusively Google stuff.

Windows Weekly is also another good one from the TWiT family.

This isn't technical, but I've found EconTalk to be a valuable resource in understanding politics and economics. The host is an Austrian (libertarian) but he interviews non-libertarians in a way designed to elicit their expert understanding (as opposed to any polemic purposes). There's more to the world than tech.
