I want to create an image for the background of my iPod Touch. What the "standard" size that is used?

The background size is 320 x 480.

There are several default background pictures in the iPhone. You could email one of the photos to yourself and see what the image size is. You can take a screen shot, pull the image from iPhoto (assuming you are using a Mac) and look at it's size. Go to one of the hundreds of websites offering iPhone background screens or even flickr.com.

Since I knew what the screen resolution was thanks to the Tech info in the Apple Store's iPhone entry, it was pretty straight forward to figure out the size.

I am making a new background that lists my food allergies. I wanted to know what the optimum size is to accomplish this. My Google searches listed various sizes, but nothing said, "A standard background size for iPhones is x" – Mike Wills Aug 3 '09 at 14:25
