I know that MS was offering a discount on Windows 7 upgrade purchases starting on June 26th. I also remember that it was a limited time offer - but I can't find when that limited time actually ended. Is the upgrade-discount program still available?

No, the program ended. However, some computer retailers are providing a free upgrade to Windows 7 on some limited selections of computers. See Microsoft's page for more details. | |||

Well there will probably be a lot of different offerings when it's finally on for sale. They are really serious about getting Windows XP of your computer and Vista even moreso, so they will probably have OEM clients bundling it with hardware at an acceptable rate. | |||
