Just because there is nothing on Google doesn't necessarily mean that they are malware. I'm sure that there are drivers for proprietary software out there that isn't in the search engines yet. The good thing is that if Google doesn't know about it, there is a good chance that it isn't necessary for XP to run.

You could try to back up your system and then move the files someplace to see if everything works fine without them. Have a live CD on hand just in case so that you can move the files back if they are needed. If your system doesn't need them and you make it a habit of backing up your data as well as keeping all of your install discs, then I don't see any reason to hang on to them.
