My AOL mail will not let me send anything out from a specific computer. I can send mail via Yahoo, Outlook Express or send AOL at home. This error occured after a netwrok server went down and we have not been able to fix it.

Suggestions?

@gmcalab: I use AOL - we've tried other ISPs but AOL has always worked, has very infrequent down days. One of the guys who came to install a different service knew nothing - we had to talk him through the installation process. At least AOL just mail a disc and that's it... I'm 26 and we've been with them since I was 13. – Anonymous May 10 '10 at 20:45

Ask your networkadmin about that, he knows more than we can even guess.

Some possibilities

  • Port blocked
  • Domain is blocked
  • Remote server is down (less likely)
  • Email client not configured

Solutions. Ask network admin to open port/unblock domain. Review client config for your email app. Use a proxy (considered somewhat evil since tunneling proxies subvert any firewalls your company has set up). Use a remote desktop/VNC/logmein.com app to reach your home machine from the office.
