I want to detect the speed of my Internet connection using my Mac. I often use WiFi or CDMA, so would like to know which is best and if I was to open both, whether it could increase my speed further!

Any recommendations for Mac software that can do this?

If you just want to know how fast your internet connection is, try http://speedtest.net/ (not Mac specific, works in any browser). If that doesn't work, google "internet speed test" for some alternatives.

Determining which is better should be a simple function of running some tests.
