Is there a software that allows you to keep track of someones working time digitally?

We are growing to an extent where we work remotely and we would like to have fixed working times.

All it should do is kind of register when someone starts working (i.e. someone needs to login somewhere or set a flag.. really it could be anything)

Do you have any ideas?

The only place I worked where they had this sort of thing they'd written the application themselves. – ChrisF May 23 '10 at 18:51

I've been using Paymo for doing such things on my freelance projects. There's a free version for freelancers, and a paid version (a couple of bucks a month) for larger corporations.

It's basically a web service that logs time based on tasks lists, either via the web interface or via a small desktop widget that runs in the status bar. As far as I've experienced, it works really smoothly and includes functionality for both statistics, reports and invoicing.

+1 - I also use Paymo. Good for setting up task templates for recurring projects – Ray Mitchell May 5 '11 at 15:13
