I am using Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

What I need is to map my FTP server as a local drive - or anything I have write access to - in Finder.

This question came from our site for professional and enthusiast programmers.

Commercial product: webdrive.com/products/webdrive/mac/index.html and there seems to be a native way in Finder: mac-forums.com/forums/os-x-operating-system/… –  Pekka 웃 Jun 6 '10 at 11:59
unfortunately, this native way is read-only :( –  arik-so Jun 6 '10 at 12:29

Check out the following:

  1. sshfs for Mac OS X

  2. MacFUSE

  3. Macfusion (a GUI for option 2.)

Thanks a lot! sshfs is great. –  arik-so Jun 6 '10 at 12:56
It seems as of Lion and Mountain Lion Macfuse, and therefore Macfusion also is f'd. –  cosmicbdog Nov 7 '12 at 17:47

Transmit has this option as well.

I think you meant Transmit. They changed the name years ago. :) –  ghoppe Jun 8 '10 at 4:10
@ghoppe Oops, you are correct sir! –  Mike Wills Jun 8 '10 at 13:10

OSXFUSE allows you to extend OS X's native file-handling capabilities via third-party file systems. It is a successor to MacFUSE, which is no longer being maintained
