My 4 year old son likes to play games on my wife's iPod touch and has a 'cute' habit of deleting apps via long-press on the icon and then pressing the red X.

Is it possible to disable this feature?

Unless you have jailbroken your iphone/ipod touch, there is currently no way to disable this behavior.

Search iprotect on cydia if you have a jailbroken device =)

but seriously, (and sorry if I sound offending) I think the way is to teach the kid that deleting application makes the ipod useless for him/her/you and that this is not acceptable behavior.
