I'm trying to recover some data using testdisk and running ubuntu from a live cd.

When i choose the undelete option i get the following message and it takes me out of testdisk:

file undeleteAborded (core dumped)

do you know why? can you give me some advices, tips about what to do?

We really need more info. It's like saying, "I tried to do X, but it failed". Why did it fail? We need to know more than just that it failed (for example the core dump, what other things were you doing at the same time). – Daisetsu Jun 7 '10 at 16:22
i was running ubuntu from a liveCD and had terminals and nautilus opened. That's it. Core dump is a lack of resoucers type message? I'll come back with an replay in 8 hrs(when I'll be home) – doug Jun 7 '10 at 17:52
