I have a Brazilian Keyboard that I need to use in my machine for some testing, but none of Brazilian Layouts that came with Ubuntu Lucid Lynx release are 100% compatible (I'm missing question marks and "/").

How do I download additional keyboard layouts? Is it possible? It's a HP KU-0316 model (Brazilian Version).

By the way, it's an english installation with a Brazilian keyboard. Does it have some effect in the problem I'm describing or shouldn't matter?

If it's not possible to download this keyboard layout, can I at least try to use an utility to "map" my failing keys?

It seens everything is correct at Ubuntu, I tested the question mark key with xev utility and it wasn't detected, so I don't think it's a problem with additional layout.

From the top menu bar, System -> Settings -> Keyboard (Or similar, I'm currently using a Finnish version)

From there, select the layouts tab. It should be fairly self-explanatory.

I want to download additional keyboards that are presented there - not change them. The available layouts in the system don't have my keyboard model. –  Somebody still uses you MS-DOS Jun 11 '10 at 14:49

You can choose the actual keyboard model in the settings, too? –  Esa Lakaniemi Jun 11 '10 at 14:58

This keyboard model isn't available. That's why I'm asking this question, I want to know if there are some packages with more models that I can download, or an utility to manually map my keys (last option). –  Somebody still uses you MS-DOS Jun 11 '10 at 16:57
