Any recommendations on books, websites, or other resources for learning Internet Protocol, the ins and outs of DNS and how Networking and IP Addressing works? I have a fundamental knowledge of this stuff but I need a good reference I can look to frequently.

Read DNS For Rocket Scientists This is an open source guide, so its free; and it will teach you everything you need to know about how DNS Address translation works... and then some. For more of the ins-outs of networking and how IP addresses are assigned (think, anything on the local end of the router/gateway) check out Head First Networking. I admit, the format is pretty corny but it'll keep you from falling asleep while reading it (networking books have the tendency to do that).

I highly recommend TCP/IP Illustrated, Volume 1 by Stevens. Around here, this is the go to book when it comes to anything IP related, and many folks refer to it as The Bible.
