What are the typical temperatures of such CPUs?

alt text

This seems way too hot in my opinion... Maybe I'm wrong? Is it normal?

Temperatures are in CELSIUS degrees, for Fahrenheit degrees :

62C = 143.6F 56C = 132.8F 82C = 179.6F

Even though it might be able to withstand such temperature for short to medium periods of time, 62 does indeed seem rather hot. None of my PC's have a cpu core over 40 degrees celsius, except maybe on the very hottest summer days.

If you have not overclocked the CPU, case temperature is ok (<35 degrees) and the heat sink cooler is working, you might want to check / replace the cooling adhesive between CPU and heat sink.

It's an HP Compaq 615 laptop... I haven't messed with its internals and it is still under warranty... Should I pay them a little visit? – Andrei Rinea Jun 22 '10 at 23:03

I think Laptops are a slightly different story. The internal temperature of a laptop can be way over the typical temperature for midi PC casings. So I am not sure either. – Adrian Grigore Jun 27 '10 at 19:16

Your 62C is nothing to worry about.

If it shuts down without you telling it to, then it's probably overheating. Not just fine. – Darth Android Jul 22 '11 at 19:16
