huawei e1550 + Windows 7 - how to send ussd request

Question

I use a huawei e1550 umts-stick and would like to send ussd requests (like *104#) and receive the answer somehow (to find out about the amount of remaining megabytes for data transfer).

The included huawei software (called "mobile partner") has a button to check the account balance (I'm using a prepaid sim card), but I need to send a different ussd code to find out about transfer volume..

I believe you will have to put the sim card in a device and do this operation and the applications don't usually have keypad or anything similar
