I've just downloaded debian-504-i386-businesscard.iso from a mirror and wanted to be sure that the file is OK.

The Debian CD FAQ says:

For HTTP or FTP downloads, use the md5sum utility to calculate the checksums of the files you downloaded, then compare them to the checksums in the MD5SUMS files which are distributed alongside the jigdo files of official releases.

"jigdo files of official releases" is a link to a download area but there are only md5sums for the live versions.

Am I missing something or are the md5sums for all Debian ISOs (except live CDs) really missing?

I must be blind. Where exactly is the MD5SUM file? It's not in cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.4/i386/bt-cd –  Ludwig Weinzierl Jun 24 '10 at 16:30

@Ludwig: I found it in another directory. I figured that {distro}/{arch}/{iso-cd}. –  Josh K Jun 24 '10 at 16:56

Thanks Josh, it's really there and the md5 matches the file I downloaded:-) –  Ludwig Weinzierl Jun 24 '10 at 17:12
