I want to learn how to use VBA. I spend around 2~3 hours making a report every week using Excel 2007 and I think I could benefit from knowing VBA well.

I already know programming and as such know a smattering of VBA also but I'm looking for a book on the subject.

As usual I tried amazon but there are a lot of books with good reviews :)

What do you think are "Good books for learning Excel VBA". TIA.

I would suggest looking for books from John Walkenbach (a.k.a. Mr. Spreadsheet) he's the guru of MS Excel.

I'm presonally using
Excel 2003 Power Programming with VBA
but there are newer books like:
Excel 2007 Power Programming with VBA

Check the rest on Amazon

+1 for any of John Walkenbach's books. There's also an edition out for Excel 2010 now too. – technomalogical Jul 6 '10 at 13:46
Hey, Thanks! Mr. Spreadsheet's bookshelf in general seems pretty good. – Holysmoke Jul 7 '10 at 5:29

I found Professional Excel Development by Stephen Bullen, Rob Bovey, John Green & Dennis Wallentin to be the book that took me from hacking about to creating well-structured applications in VBA.

For learning the Basics I used Excel Visual Basic for Dummies. Good book to get you up and running if you haven't experienced VBA etc. that much.

I learnt Excel VBA Programming thanks to this book. I absolutely recommend it:

Microsoft Excel VBA Programming for the Absolute Beginner / Duane Birnbaum

This is a fantastic book that I use all the time. I would recommend it to someone of any skill level.

VBA and Macros for Microsoft Excel

One of the best tips I learned from this book: Don't trust the code from the macro recorder!

In addition to a book, your next best resource will be the VBA help docs (which are quite thorough) and the Object Browser. (F2 while in VBA editor.) Being able to browse the available methods/properties at a glance can be a lifesaver.

I have used and still use the WROX series entiled "Excel 2003 VBA". This series has been improved with every version now "Excel 2007 VBA". I still use my first book of this series "Excel 2000 VBA". A fantastic reference.
