Per this earlier thread, I understand that my current driver is tailor-made to my laptop (acer aspire 5740-5780, windows 7 64bit). The touchpad works fine; I'm just smitten by the multi-touch options that an ELAN driver provides (I saw it on an ASUS K60IJ). To be specific, the ELAN permits two-finger tapping and three-finger tapping, mappable to, say, a middle click and a right click, respectively. Wish I could get my synaptics touchpad to do that.

I barely know what I'm talking about when it comes to touchpads and their drivers. Not sure if I can just download another vendor's software, and pray for compatibility. If that's inadvisable, is anyone familiar with synaptics offerings that might jazz up the multi-touch gesture functionality? For example, I noticed an offering on the synaptics website for something called Scrybe, which I know nothing about but seems to involve multi-touch gesture mapping for synaptics devices.

Thanks in advance!
