I need a Dell laptop battery (specifically for an Inspirion E1705) and if possible, I need it now. As in, I don't want to wait and buy it on Dell.com or whatever, I'm willing to drive somewhere and buy it locally.

Does anyone sell Dell laptop batteries?

I'm in the DFW Metroplex if that matters.

There is a Batteries Plus in Dallas. Not sure if any others would be near you. Your best bet would be to call them to see if they have the battery in stock in the store, as different stores have different stocks.

There's a Batteries Plus where I live too and while not exactly cheap, its saved my bacon once or twice. – AnonJr Aug 1 '09 at 2:17
This, as it turns out, is the answer. Batteries Plus appears the be the ONLY place that carries... well pretty much every battery known to man. Their website is slick, and the guys there knew their stuff. – Schnapple Aug 4 '09 at 16:29

I'm not from the DFW area, so I couldn't say for sure, but in my area, we do have 1 or 2 shops that carry parts for laptops, including batteries. They're a primarily online business, but being that they're local, they have a "local pickup" option.

I would imagine in a metroplex as large as yours, there's bound to be a computer retailer or two that would carry a replacement battery, but my guess would be that it's going to be a smaller supplier-type of store.

You could also look into purchasing the battery from Buy.com or another online retailer and paying out the nose for overnight shipping.

I love Dealextreme, but sometimes it's the furthest thing from "now". – hyperslug Jul 31 '09 at 3:37
