I am using Windows Media Player version 9.

When I attempt to use the Auto Playlists, like

  • Fresh tracks -- yet to be rated
  • Favourites -- 4 and 5 star rated

I get the message

No items found for this search. Please modify your search criteria and try again.

and I get the error

Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline.

How do I resolve this?

These errors occur when the paths of your tracks are changed. Check the drive letters especially of your external drives. – Mehper C. Palavuzlar Jul 13 '10 at 6:28
Most of my tracks are on an external drive, but the drive letters do not change. – Steve Jul 23 '10 at 13:02
