I have recently signed up to Google Apps.

I am setting up users for my mail accounts. When I tried to setup the following two user accounts:

  • abuse@mydomain.com
  • postmaster@mydomain.com

I got the rather cryptic error message:

Username is reserved for email list only

How do I set up these two email addresses using Google apps?

A quick search on google found this:

`The solution is to create a Group for postmaster (and/or abuse) and add the appropriate user / email
address so you get copied in.
Unfortunately there is currently a bug, refer

If you look at your Administration console and check the email settings then look at your list of email addresses it gives a link to this article:

abuse addresses

How are reports of abuse, spam, and technical problems handled?

For your convenience, the Google Team monitors abuse@yourdomain.com and postmaster@yourdomain.com to ensure that we can properly address all reports of spam, abuse, and technical issues. Since abuse and postmaster are reserved aliases, you won't be able to use them as usernames or nicknames.
