What are your must have software packages to repair your Mac?

It's not clear from your original question as to whether you meant a specific kind of troubleshooting software (eg. disk) or generic. – Chealion Jul 15 '10 at 1:17

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. See the FAQ for guidance on how to improve it.

Console, Terminal and Activity Monitor - all available with Mac OS X.

Additional software that has a more focused purpose:

Disk related: DiskWarrior, Carbon Copy Cloner General: AppleJack, Mac OS X Hardware DVD (one is provided with every computer - often you just need to hold D when starting up on the "Recovery" DVD.)
