On the "what's new" page for FF4b1 there is the feature described as "Navigate more easily by switching to open tabs from your Awesome Bar." - how do I activate it? Clicking in the address bar just opens the history of URLs for me.

This is illustrated with the following image (so some kind of visual indicator showing that a tab is already available for a typed in URL? Not visible for me either...):

"Clicking in the address bar just opens the history of URLs for me."

You have to start typing into the address bar the type of the tab you want to switch to. Clicking the bar doesn't work.

Yes, I tried it - hence I wrote "so some kind of visual indicator showing that a tab is already available for a typed in URL? Not visible for me either..." Just tried it again - I have a Google Calendar tab open, and I started typing "cale..." in the address bar - it autosuggested the full URL for me, and kindly opened the whole page again in this new tab. –  NPC Jul 23 '10 at 15:43

This now works in the second beta. I guess some local issue that they now fixed. I will "accept" your answer since it is now valid for me as well :) –  NPC Jul 28 '10 at 7:29
