I have issue with Internet Explorer 6.

Seems that when I'm about to open lets say a word document from a website, it takes forever to open it within Word.

Internet explorer freezes for about 2 minutes.

As this is in my work place I'm stuck with IE6, is there anyway around this.

P.S saving files and then opening them locally is fine, it's just when IE tries to execute the file with the application associated with it.

What service packs do you have installed? Also what is the OS? Also as an aside, why IE6? – JNK Jul 26 '10 at 12:15
Windows XP SP3, IE6 because theres several applications such as Service Desk that rely on IE6, were planning to upgrade to 7 in the future, but for now this problem needs to be resolved. – RobertPitt Jul 26 '10 at 12:21
Sorry, for service packs I was referring to IE6. Is it SP1? Is it just an issue with Word or does it happen with any other program? What version of Word do you have. – JNK Jul 26 '10 at 12:28
