I am not as experienced with Windows as I am with Mac OS. I am borrowing a laptop running Windows 7, and the trackpad doesn't accept input until around 2 seconds after the last keyboard key has been pressed. I know this has a purpose, but I find the delay very annoying. I tried turning off "hide cursor while typing" in control panel, but that didn't seem to change anything at all, and I can't even find settings for this in the trackpad driver. Is there any way I can shorten or turn off this delay?

Model: emachines E627

This is almost certainly a specific setting for the laptop in question. You were right to look in the trackpad driver / setting panel. There might be some third-party manufacturer software that controls it separately. I suggest you edit your question to tell us the laptop model as someone else with the same one may be in a better position to answer this definitively – AdamV Jul 31 '10 at 9:18
Thanks, I added the model. And is there anywhere else in my software and control panels I could look? – thenickperson Aug 1 '10 at 2:38
