I am planing to install custom firmware on WDTV device and use it as media center.I am planning to add USB Ethernet adapter and boot it off USB flashdrive to ssh to custom Linux installation remotely and manage torrent client. My media collection is on SATA disk and I have USB dock station that can be used with SATA disks.
The problem is that WDTV has only 2 USB ports and I need to use 3 ports in configuration above. I can see two solutions here.First, make SATA disk bootable putting custom firmware there, then copy all media on that disk. Not sure however how BIOS would treat this setup.Second solution would be using USB hub connecting bootable USB flashdrive and SATA dock to it, however I have doubts that BIOS would know how to boot off USB hub.

Does anyone know if I can go either way or can offer some other ideas?
