I'm using Thunderbird on windows to read several four email accounts. I'm using IMAP.
I need the mail client to actually download what's on the inbox so I dont hove to wait every time I click on an email (with attachments most of the time).
Thunderbird has the option for this, but it doens't work well.
Those email accounts are vieved/answered by 3 persons at the same time. When someone answers an email, he archives/label it it. I don't need to have all the labels cached, The only folder I really need to work ok is the inbox.

Any suggestion besides Thunderbird? I'm on windows. When I'm not on my machine, I use the webmail interface of gmail.

Outlook is NOT an option.

+1 for rejecting Outlook as an email client. It may be many things, but it is not a great email client. At least I don't like it. – Paperflyer Aug 3 '10 at 7:15
can you possibly expand upon the statement, "Thunderbird has the option for this but it doesn't work well." What is Thunderbird doing incorrectly regarding downloading messages? – Jonathan Aug 3 '10 at 7:41
Not downloading the every time, sometimes I click a message and it's already donloaded, so the response is inmediate, but sometimes when I click a message, it starts downloading it, the faster I need to read a given email, the most posibilities of it not being already downloaded. The other thing is: starts to rebuild indexes of folders I'm not even touching. I clicked on an email, load the damn thing and do your maintaining tasks in other moment. And last, not actualizing the message count of the inbox. I have to click on the inbox to make sure there is a newemail there or not – The Disintegrator Aug 8 '10 at 2:44

postbox is essentially thunderbird (+ a xobni-like addon) :) – akira Aug 3 '10 at 7:36
At a glance, looks to be OS X only. – crazysim Aug 3 '10 at 7:39
nope, they have a windows app as well. From theyr FAQ: What platforms does Postbox support? At this time we support Windows and Macintosh. see here: postbox-inc.com/faq#platforms – Alex Aug 8 '10 at 20:01
