debugging X and KDE on startup

Question

Been trying to setup my xorg.conf file to have a 1920x1200 screen.

Strange behavior: when my X starts up, I see my mouse cursor, can move it around. It's small enough to suggest the 1920x1200 resolution took, is working.

However, the rest of the screen remains black. No login prompt.

I've looked at /var/log/xorg.conf, no errors. Is there something else I can look at?

heh, never mind. Was working fine -- I simply had my second monitor viewing the wrong cable input.
