I'm trying to find software that lets me record sound and mouse movements over an existing AVI video. I want something like the annotation done on NFL replays. Anyone know of a program that can do this?

If you feel ok doing it all manually, that is, first recording normally, then adding the annotations, I do it the hard way, making my overlays in any image editor, and then using the free VirtualDub provided I added to it the so called Logo 1.72b filter. One has to make as well an special b/w (greyscale image) for the alpha channel if want that overlay having transparent areas.(or being partiall transparent in all the surface) Then I set the frames segments where I want the overlay at. A much easier way is just using a multitrack video editor like Sony Vegas and just drop your pngs over an overlay track and resize-edit each super fast as you wish. Anyway, if in the end you are going to make it live, there are several online streaming free services that allow you to add annotations once uploaded. (I think Youtube and Viddler allowed it...) | |||
